I grew up as an expat in Africa and Europe, and my experience with foreign cultures and customs sparked a lifelong passion for learning and sharing stories of diverse groups and people. I'm a writer at heart, and marketing/communications strategy is the best avenue I've found for breathing life into and effectively translating these stories into powerful data-driven messages and campaigns. I live for the moments when these efforts create awareness, spark action and result in economic contributions that ultimately improve the world.
After years of working in the social entrepreneurship and healthcare technology world, I learned firsthand how small businesses and subject-matter/domain experts often have to be lean and scrappy as they make meaningful contributions and incredible impact across our world. This calls for quick-turn, nimble marketing strategy support and solutions that I enjoy providing – both proactively and on the fly.
Most recently, I've had the privilege to serve as the director of marketing at NarrativeDx, a patient feedback AI analytics platform. Prior to NarrativeDx, I was vice president of marketing and communications at Afoundria; a healthcare IT company serving physicians who treat our aging population, and before Afoundria, I led communications for Verb; a mission-driven technology enterprise that runs programs tackling wicked problems across the globe.
I've immersed myself in the local Austin-area network of mission-driven businesses, social entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations through my experience in building marketing infrastructure for rapidly-growing startups, developing online communities, running comprehensive campaigns and promoting events for Afoundria, BlueHub Health, Verb and previous Verb clients (Dell, IBM, TOMS, LIVESTRONG, The Everglades Foundation). These experiences have instilled a deep, lifelong belief in the transformative power of businesses doing good, and I've also had the pleasure of supporting a wide variety of great organizations creating impact across different sectors over the years: Newton O'Neill Communications (and NONC clients Food+City, IT'S TIME TEXAS, the City of Georgetown, TX, and more), Globacom Technologies, GuideWell Innovation, MAX's Wine Dive, G Media Partners, and Unstoppable Foundation.
